Dubai and WEF sign MoU to promote autonomous vehicle technology

Dubai’s transport authority says it wants a quarter of journeys in the UAE city to be smart and driverless by 2030, as it launches the second edition of its Dubai World Challenge for Self-Driving Transport competition.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the World Economic Forum (WEF) to promote the strategic partnerships between the two parties, especially relevant to the Safe Drive Initiative Framework (SafeDI Framework) of the Forum. RTA says the MoU supports Dubai’s strategy to transform 25 per cent of total trips in the city into self-driving trips by year 2030.

ドバイ道路交通局（RTA）は、世界経済フォーラム（WEF）と覚書を交わし、両者の戦略的パートナーシップ、特に同フォーラムのセーフドライブ・イニシアティブ・フレームワーク（SafeDIフレームワーク）に関連したパートナーシップを推進しています。RTAによると、この覚書は、2030年までにドバイ市内の全交通量の25％を自動運転に切り替えるというドバイの戦略を支援するものです。
