日本国内では、2020年3月に5Gの商用サービスが開始されたところであるが、世界中では次世代の移動通信システムである「6G」および、2030年代の情報通信技術に関する検討の機運が高まっている。本稿では、6Gの研究開発に関する国内外動向やスケジュール展望、および、「ドコモ6Gホワイトペーパー」で提案した5G evolution & 6Gのコンセプトについて概説する。
