Automakers Targeted by NHTSA Over Faulty Airbag Inflators
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has ordered the recall of faulty airbag inflators manufactured by ARC Automotive and Delphi Automotive, affecting a total of 52 million inflators. These inflators have been incorporated into air bag modules of various vehicle manufacturers, including Tesla, GM, and Ford. The NHTSA’s initial recall request was declined by ARC, claiming insufficient evidence.
