Tesla EV policy talks continue.
The Indian government is discussing Tesla’s demand for lower tariffs on imports of fully built vehicles, but any changes in policy will be for the entire industry and linked to performance criteria. Tesla is ready to invest up to $2 billion in manufacturing operations if a concessional duty of 15% on imported vehicles is approved. Discussions are also ongoing with other global and Indian manufacturers.
