Fortescue expands UK operations with Oxfordshire research and engineering facility

Fortescue has completed the acquisition of test, research and engineering facility in Banbury, Oxfordshire, that it says supports its commitment to “advancing green technology and zero-emission solutions”.

The facility will enable Fortescue to expand its prototype, manufacturing and testing capabilities, enabling in-house management and control of the majority of product testing. The site is located close to Fortescue‘s existing battery manufacturing facility in Banbury.

With a floor plan of 2,339m2, the test site contains multiple test cells, a workshop, a battery prototype and development area, as well as a number of test control centers and control chamber facilities.
