Hyundai installs Nikon x-ray CT scanner at Michigan testing facility
Hyundai has installed Nikon’s x-ray computed tomography (CT) system at its newly opened US$51.4m Safety Test and Investigation Laboratory (STIL) in Superior Township, Michigan.
The Nikon x-ray CT system will be used by Hyundai Motor North America for critical analytical processes, including the non-destructive inspection of components such as airbag inflators, lock mechanisms, seat switches, struts, impellers and additive parts. The system features a large scanning volume, multi-source flexibility, dual-detector functionality and various enhancements.
