German automaker BMW intends to slash production costs per vehicle by 25% over the next four years in order to become more competitive with Tesla, Daimler and Volkswagen. Automakers like BMW are finding themselves in a tough spot of maintaining their profit margins producing gas-powered vehicles while simultaneously investing billions to develop new electric models.
